Architectural Design

Architecture is the art and science of building design. Building construction is the process of assembling materials to form a building. Building design may be legally executed only by persons deemed competent to do so by the state in which the building is to be constructed. Competency is determined on the basis of education, experience, and ability to pass a written test of design skills.

Architects are persons legally permitted to practice architecture. Engineers are experts in specific scientific disciplines and are legally permitted to design parts of the buildings; in some cases, complete buildings. In some states, persons licensed as building designers are permitted to design certain types of buildings. The basic traditional design procedure is executed in several stages. In the first stage, the architect develops a program, or list of the client’s requirements. In the next stage, the schematic or conceptual phase, the architect translates requirements into spaces, relates the spaces and makes sketches, called schematics, to illustrate the concepts.
In the design of a building, our architects are guided by the following principles:

 

  • The building should be constructed to serve the purposes specified by the client.
  • The design should be constructible by known techniques using available labor and equipment, within an acceptable time.
  • The building should be capable of withstanding the elements and the normal usage for a period of time specified by the client.
  • Both inside and outside, the building should be visually pleasing.
  • No part of the building should pose a hazard to the safety or health of its occupants under normal usage, and the building should provide exits for safe evacuation or refuge in emergencies.
  • The building should provide the degree of shelter from the elements and of control of the interior environment air, temperature, humidity, light, and acoustics— specified by the client and not less than the minimums required for safety and health of the occupants.
  • The building should be constructed to minimize adverse impact on the environment.
  • Operation of the building should consume a minimum of energy while permitting the structure to serve its purposes.
  • The sum of costs of construction, operation, maintenance, repair, and anticipated future alterations should be kept within the limit specified by the client.
 
 
 
Structural Design

Structural design is an iterative process of applying engineering mechanics and past experience to create a functional, economic, and, most importantly, safe structure for the public to enjoy. Using structural analysis techniques and conforming to design specifications, our design engineer works to create a solution that is to everyone's benefit.

Structure is everywhere - look around you. We all exist within an infrastructure that is created by structural engineers. Not only do structural engineers touch all aspects of modern-day living, they have also been the driving force behind worldwide development for many centuries.

Structural Engineering is the profession that deals with the frame work or skeleton of buildings, bridges, towers, stadiums, tunnels, roller coasters and monuments – in short, virtually every piece of the world’s built environment. 

The main duty of our SE is to ensure public safety and to serve the client's interests in meeting the appropriate standards and legal codes. Our SE accomplishes this by designing the components of the structure that hold its contents, such as the people or items in a building or the vehicles on a bridge. In buildings, SE's design roof framing (beams, rafters, joists, and trusses), floor framing (floor decks, joists, beams, trusses, and girders), arches, columns, braces, frames, foundations and walls. In bridges, they design the deck - or riding surface, girders or stringers, and piers. The materials they use include steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and aluminum. Our engineers design the structure to resist forces of the gravity, earthquakes, high winds, water, soil and collisions. Tameer SE's develop their designs by performing calculations of the framing components often using complicated design and analysis computer programs. The results are drawn on a set of plans. The drawings are then used by a contractor to price and build the structure.

Our services covering commercial, educational and residential projects and all types of projects from small tenant finish to large projects, as well as schools, industrial and medical office buildings. Our MEP team works according to the following:

  • MEP Engineering and their design team members work together on a long-term basis, rather than being assigned on a project by project basis. This team structure allows long term relationships to develop between staff, facilities owners, architectural clients, other sub consultants, and contractors. 
  • After MEP team understands the project and client goals, they assign a specific design team lead by a seasoned team leader. Our team works diligently with the client throughout the various evaluation, design and construction phases. Each team works toward providing engineering solutions that meet the client's needs and are within the clients' budget parameters. Supervision

Supervision means the act of watching over the work or tasks of another who may lack full knowledge of the concept at hand. Supervision does not mean control of another but guidance in a work, professional or personal context.
